Zesty Seven-Layer Dip

Ingredients:

  • 1 can (16 oz) refried beans
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 tablespoon taco seasoning (or to taste)
  • 1 ripe avocado (or 1 cup prepared guacamole)
  • 1 cup salsa (choose your preferred heat level)
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup sliced black olives
  • 1/2 cup chopped green onions

Instructions:

  1. Prepare Layers: In a clear, shallow serving dish, spread the refried beans evenly as the bottom layer.
  2. Mix & Spread Sour Cream: In a small bowl, mix the sour cream with taco seasoning. Spread this over the refried beans.
  3. Add Guacamole: Next, gently spread the mashed avocado (or prepared guacamole) over the sour cream layer.
  4. Top with Salsa: Pour and evenly spread the salsa over the guacamole.
  5. Cheese It Up: Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese as the next layer.
  6. Finish with Olives & Onions: Top the cheese with sliced black olives and finally sprinkle the chopped green onions over the entire dish.
  7. Chill & Serve: Refrigerate the dip for at least 30 minutes before serving with tortilla chips.
